I had similar glitches when I was testing the release a few versions ago, I'm guessing the culprit is an incorrectly copy/pasted save code. The save code currently tracks more variables than can potentially be shown in the box and unless you press ctrl+a or scroll up you will only copy a partial code. This leads to all sorts of wackiness in the game (for instance try loading a code of just 1A and click a few times, nice shortcut to Paizuri scene 😉 ). I spent a day breaking down the save code so I could try to break the game to find bugs and if I'm not mistaken days passed and food are adjacent variables so it's not surprising that those 2 would be screwy in an incomplete code. If I had to guess I'd say the time played and current area are probably incorrect also.
If you have time before the next release, maybe make a save checker to make sure the code pasted is complete. Just create a global variable for the number of entries in the save code and create a loop to count the number of "A"s in the pasted code. If the number of As == total As variable then load game, else display an error. Would be fairly minimal and it's modular so you can increase variables in the code later. This would also eliminate some user error from future bug reports.
