I know people who support my work have reservations and just general disdain for AI. Most of which I actually agree with. There is an environmental impact that needs to be addressed, it’s replacing jobs at pace where people may not be able to quickly or easily find another one. It’s built from stealing and/or training on many different people’s work (including mine’s), which obviously I don’t think is right.
However, since a lot of these tools are already widely adopted and the wild, and since even generating locally is possible, it’s not going anywhere. And not using it in ways that can improve and speed up my work, or allow me to make new types of content, puts me at a huge disadvantage for digital content.
You may also be unaware that in many other countries AI is already basically everywhere. It’s in nearly all the advertisements and already being taught in grade school. I remember even here in the US during Easter I saw a big poster with a AI easter bunny on it at a CVS.
And on the topic of everywhere, it brings me to the final major issue we are currently facing, the massive plethora of “slop”. In my case, I mainly just care about the adult stuff, since making that is my passion.
Personally, as I view the AI adult slop landscape, I can count on one hand how many people are actually putting in some effort to make something narratively decent.
I feel like a lot of the slop (again, with regards to nsfw specifically) comes from new creators. That for the first time ever, are able to actually produce something they may have been wanting to do. And no shade to them. They may have have had a passion for it like me, but never had a chance to make anything, or the time to.
But in comes AI, the great equalizer. Now anyone can make something with a fraction of the effort. No need to learn to draw. Don’t need to hire an artist or anyone to do anything. You can make everything yourself, and you will find no shortage of people searching for what you make. Even willing to pay for it.
Do I feel threatened by it? Not yet, but never using ai puts me at an increasingly greater and greater disadvantage as ai tools improve and more people use it more and more.
No ones like slop, but making something quick and stimulating with decent to good quality is also something I’ve been trying to make long before ai. This is proven by the fact that I’ve been making mini-scenes and other smaller projects since all the way back in the Flash days.
Mini scenes are the only thing so far that’s really even stuck. And those are only even recently revitalized because of ai assisted coding to make them in html format. However now, mini-scenes, or just any scenes in general, have the option of being entirely in video format, with lip sync, screen and sound effects, small body motions, and walking in and out of frame. Certain close up boob scenes, that would not normally be animated, can be animated in just a few minutes. Cum scenes, that have only ever been a sequence of images, can be animated. With several other options for content also available.
For the most part, I’m taking about using real handmade images and my own characters and stories as a base and going from there. I think even with AI, or any work, people appreciate a human component at it’s core. And with my content there’s a long history of human made characters and stories to derive content ideas from. And that’s not going anywhere. It hasn’t ever, and won’t ever. I just need you all to have confidence in decisions, as a long time creator of fictional nsfw content, to use sound judgement when it comes to possible implementation of AI into my projects, or in using to to create new types of content.
