Nice try, water effect is the hardest to get right. OK Love the beginning the cam is under the water at Maiko’s feet. We shouldn’t see a perfect feet of image, it should be a little blur or wavy like blur. Can’t fault you not easy to do. Going up the hair animation should be wet, not easy to do the fact the limit of the tool your using MMD. When Maiko is coming her hair there should be water flying out of her hair. Yes I’m comparing it to music video’s of wet hair in music videos. Not a easy shit to do. Still the ground water looks nice. I have no idea what you can do on a very limit tool. It’s amazing that developers master everything but water effect. Hell they even got clay to look like clay since the Super Nintendo era. Water effect got a jump on the N64. Reflection on water perfected on PS2 era. But animating a hair wet? Holy shit not even the reboot Tomb Raider got it right. It some what looks way off.
PS: since the water is cold should she have pickle nipples?…. ROFL!
Many thanks, yeah I can do wavy underwater here but I didn’t think to do that here. imo it would only be distorted if you are looking at underwater from above the water. or looking out of the water from in it. If you are both underwater such as maiko feet and the camera you would not see distortion in the water around maiko’s feet from this close.
There are water droplets on Maiko’s hair they are most noticeable at the 20 second mark. But yeah water flying off the body I don’t think is possible in MMD but I forgot to even try it. I can probably kinda make it look that way by having a splash effect on the hair similar to the ankles. I remember doing something similar on a old video.
I think it turned out beautifully. I don’t have anything to add to Joe’s critique either. Normally I try to be more critical (I learn from my friends) but it’s just too damn pretty for that.
