I wanted to get back into some of my intellectual type stuff because I don’t always live and breathe to make just porn and hentai games. I like to also share my experiences from my perspective on things as someone who makes hentai in addition to other things. It is often directed toward artists and developers but it can potentially apply to anyone. On this site you will also get educated from personal experience and theories o_O;
a while back I had umcc on kickstarter to learn more about the website, and this is my thoughts on kickstarter in general.

Kickstarter is like a casino roulette, look at Mighty No.9 a shit storm was being hit out of it. The best advice I can give is have a thick skin from critics from the users. Others wise they’ll chow you up and spite you out. Wasting your time and energy defending your self. Don’t add oil to a fire that is already is to begin with.
So many fail Kickstarter that never make t. That where good ideas. Well a Casino Roulette is what it is. You have a 50/50 someone will donate for your project.
spending your time defending yourself is a very good point you bring up. That was part of the “tons of drama” I mentioned at the end lol. Because as soon as you begin, suddenly everyone one in the world is a expert critic with vast knowledge about your project or what you are trying to do lol. Yes there is a lot of time wasted trying to defend yourself if you have something that is not stupidly easy to comprehend.
Yep you know the old saying…. birds of a feather flock together. All it takes is one moron than BAM more will come.
I didn’t expect this to be what your voice sounded like. I don’t know why but I expected it to be higher pitched…
Also I never really thought about the hate that you might get if you try to crowd fund your game. I always thought that the people who would take the time to write down a comment would be saying good things instead of being assholes.
That Kickstarter was a hell of a ride. I think the worst part is people demanding stuff from you or your project. For starters, when you create you project, there is a product you are offering, and thats it, join in or just avoid it. But people want to join, even if its not their cup of tea, and so they need to change to their on demands of “good”. Others start to criticize as it was something easy to do, as you said, its just a hobby and you werent trying to fool anyone, even though people will think its a scam, if you wont show the hentai (even if you not allowed), or how it doesnt look like a professional studio game. Its a project dude, accept as it is, if you like it… good, its nice to have you aboard, if not, just go away man, there is no need for bashing, seriously…
On another note, talking about helping with donations or even feedback, its easy to demand stuff and feel hatred when the artist makes mistakes, even if you just watch his development from afar. But nobody want to help somehow and get the good easily, and not be punished for it. Like the patreon episode. That pisses me off man, its ok to steal if you are a consumer, but the producer cant miss once. You even listen to feedback and get back to it, explain stuff and all. That alone is different from bigger companies who just rip you off and go bye bye.
