The different heads/faces is an interesting idea. And it got me to thinking about hair color too. Have you thought about taking what you already have and just mixing things up with different colors? Give Maiko purple hair and Luma pink hair for a day?
I can’t say it ever crosses my mind. it’s like making pikachu green or something heh. I don’t do it with 2D though so that carriers over to 3D also.
I guess they don’t have hair salons out in space 😀
Girls change hair color all the time IRL. I get why you’d never do it in 2d, it would take forever to recolor all of that, frame by frame by frame. It takes a few minutes in 3d. But now that you mention it, I don’t see many major MMD artists doing that. I guess it’s an unspoken rule.
I don’t know any girls who change hair color a lot. Usually highlights and minor stuff like that, if anything.
To recolor in 2d, you’d just alter the color of that ‘body part’ (assuming it’s done in Flash and not hand-animated!)
I’ve had several ex-girlfriends who not only have highlights, but had crayon box hair colors, like purple and green. My roommate’s best friend has purple and blue hair this semester(blonde last semester). My best friend at my last school has coke-can red hair(she was brunette when I met her). My last stylist had red-red hair as well.
Though most women I know just switch between natural colors like blonde and brunette. It’s a minority of women I know who keep the same hair color year in and year out. It’s pretty normal, among teenage American women who take care of their appearance. It may not be common in Asia, but then again, neither is blue hair or G-cups with a 22 inch waist.

heh. I definitely do not share your same experiences regarding teenage American women, and I’m sure not everyone will because there are a lot of variables to consider.
