I knew about this site earlier from a space podcast I watch form time to time. But jccq brought it to my attention again so I decided to check it out further. it seems like a viable option to make money from hentai/nsfw content if you want. it is basically a kickstarter that is subscription based. to pleadges that are recurring monthly or each time you release your chosen content.
I see some folks on there making hentai and doing hentai stuff.
after reading the terms of use. the only things it mentions related to adult content are things that prohibited are things that are obscene and child pr0n.
examples of people doing hentai/adult:

jccq also mentions it here: http://spiralvortexplay.com/svp/forums/topic/webcomic-living-with-hipstergirl-and-gamergirl/page/2/#post-17441
So does this mean Vortex00 is going to do a Google Hangout? 🙂
Probably not to busy with your life or too focus on your projects. LOL
Anyways patreon is not a bad idea it’s another way of a donation in the goodness of users heart.
The site looks like a evolution of a donation button.
Wow ever since Kickstarter became so popular, new sites where created to compete with Kickstarter. Which isn’t a bad thing. That means better options for such site services. It means they have to compete with each other of how donations are funded. And manage the money better than there rivals.
So the options are Kickstarter, Indiegogo, offbeatr and patreon. If this keeps up you know Google will make there very own site to compete with them. Unless Valve STEAM beats them to it.
Nah I don’t do google hangouts. At least not currently. I’d rather be productive getting stuff done. at most he stream like I had been doing earlier when I just play some games live, or watch me record vortexplays episodes.
Probably mostly used for new games, new expansions of current games, new images and video.
It never ceases to amaze me how well these comics actually do online.
It is funny I was also thinking all these sites are simply just evolutions of donate buttons. lol.
The entire website is just a fancy donate button that is more attractive. It forces people to properly market themselves properly by making you fill out templates so people will find it worthwhile to donate money to you.
Most people have whatever content they are posting on a website with a donate button somewhere placed non-intrusively on the page with no real description to the user of what exactly you are donating for or why you should.
with most of the popular payment processors you can both set up donations and subscription access to certain pages if your website. All it takes is googling how to do it. it is as much effort as it takes to sign up for these sites and fill in all the template information.
But having said all that like still like the idea of patreon. it makes it easy for the user to understand what they are donation for and why. it is also outside of your own website.
going to go ahead and try to get this page made. I might be better then the kickstarter. Not really trying to make a new kickstarter project every so often. The one I am trying to do now is taking forever as it is.
