Vortex00 I wanted to take a moment to type out some ideas I plan on doing for UMCH. I am currently trying to complete the cafe area and all minigames in there. I have the cafe outfits designed already but needed to make the undies for the characters that are able to work in the cafe with Maiko and that works in the cafe anyway.
This is a image a did a while ago showing the outfit designs. some were asking how the tops say up and I talked to ttrop about this to see if they might need to be redesigned but I think will leave them like this. We will assume there is elastic below the red ruffle part on the boobs. The outfits are planned to have this version and a version where the white tops have slipped off their breasts.
this is a full scale pic of how stuff should look in game. The boobs may or may not be visible. I just added them there for now. The characters will be different distances from Maiko depending on the area. I will be adding a new mechanic to umcc where Maiko’s hair gets messy in addition to being dirty and being cum covered. Maiko’s hair will need to be fix before she will enter class or begin work and possibly other things. And it can get messed up at certain points in dialogue scenes, certain sex minigames, swimming, boxing, sleeping and possibly other things. Similar to being dirty, Maiko will probably be able to buy a certain kind of shampoo to keep her hair from getting messed up from most things.
There are the underwear designs. Jeni has a spots bra and cotton turtle print panties with elastic. As you can see I wanted to reinforce her turtle fetish here and make her clothes her favorite color of green. I’ll probably give her a little pet turtle she rescued that maiko can talk to her about later in a General dialogue. More on dialogue later in this post.
Leyah has the striped pantsu. Her favorite color is yellow. Other characters might have stripes also but in a different color so we’ll see. She actually goes to sleep with a big white color sleeping shirt of over this is a magical kitty face printed on it. Also she doesn’t sleep with the kitty ears on so her hair will need to be redrawn a bit for a pajama image I was working on. I was going to go with something more cute for her underwear but I think she would prefer standard cotton comfortable undies over trying to look cute. I want to have it where if she is max level relation with maiko and she sleeps over, she doesn’t wear the undies under the shirt.
Maiko has her traditional stuff. A red bra with clear straps, nothing unusual here heh. It is more durable to support the weight. For her panties I actually went old school and used the panties from the original Umichan Maiko. It is possible the Maiko’s panties can change based on player preference.
Ok now I will detail how I plan to do some things in this game. You might notice some differences from umcc.
sex scenes:
For UMCH I plan to have two different kind of sex scenes. one is minigame based like what exists in the current version of the UMCH alpha version in first person, that would be a minigame. And the other is dialogue based from a third person perspective similar to ARIA. In that one you will be able to see Maiko in the scene in the same way you see Jeo in ARIA sex scenes. I’m not sure yet if they will be swappable because the dialogue scenes will probably be situational and feature specific named characters.
As for the animation, I will try different ways for the first sex pic and see what works best. It is possible that animating the sex images will be something I do last, based on how fast they are getting created. One way is making them into a animated video like in umichan deluxe, and another way is tween animation like in wild peach, and probably the easiest way is to leave them as images but have the image zooming in and out, and from side to side matching a sex sound effect.
all of the dialogue/character/story/situational sex scenes will have a similar format. A ecchi pic of the character at the beginning with dialogue for the situation, then the actual sex pic or animation, and a cum version of the pic or a cumshot pic.
The minigame sex scenes may or may not have a ending picture. Most of the sex scenes planned will alter Maiko’s mood/stress in some way. And depending on the sex position, it will cause her to become sweaty and will mess up her hair.
For all of the minigames I plan to have some kind of sex scene for each character involved in the minigame. It may or may not be with Maiko. And sometimes it could be just a group scene will all the characters. And example would be stuff in the sex club.
hygiene:
Like in UMCC Maiko will need to shower before doing certain things and leaving certain places. Also she will need to fix up her hair at times if it is messy. Brushing teeth, anything else etc is implied. She can get dirty and her hair messed up from sports and sex. She wont enter classroom or work in this state. It will probably affect things like dialogue.
Sporty character like Jeni, Pattie, David, etc don’t mind if Maiko is currently dirty, but characters like Tsugo and Amber expect Maiko to be clean and have her hair neat at all times. I will sort out later how Maiko current status boosts or lowers relationship.
And like in UMCC being dirty is different from being cumed on. I plan on friends being also to take load for the team also but I’m not sure how it will effect interaction with other characters. I will probably just have dialogue for it and you need to clean up before triggering the actual scene.
Maiko will able to buy a type of body wash and shampoo that will either remove the need to shower and fix her hair or significantly reduce the amount she needs to do it.
Pictures:
Pics will work differently here. there are different kind of pics. A ecchi pic, and a normal pic, and normal nude pic, and possibly a sex pic. They will all have different values when being sold or collected for a quest. Maiko will now also have self camera on her tablet at the top. The current plan is that you will be able to see her face and boobs for a sweaty boob pic.
Dialogue
When with a friend or in front of a character you will have the option to speak with them. The options available will be based on current relationship. Like Maiko, I might have the npc characters and friends having a mood also. So it is possibly that a character might not yet like Maiko but currently be in a good mood. My plan for the dialogue options are talking about School, General, and Sex. Based on Maiko’s status Maiko might receive a reject talking dialogue line where the character doesn’t want to talk to Maiko. this can be based on mood, relationship status, hygene status, or possibly other things. I want to have it where Maiko can mess with her boobs or click on spots of the character which will trigger other dialogue lines.
npc Relationship/Mood:
in UMCH I think building relationship will work differently. There will only be 4 levels starting at zero and going up to level 3. and I think they will have mood/stress also but it will be simplified down to 4 levels also. Lowering or raising relationship level can happen in dialogue. I’m thinking I will break the levels down into 5 sections each. Like start at zero, of you boost relationship 5 times you will gain a relationship level.
Relationship affects the dialogue you can talk to the character about but all the options will be available to try.
Reject talking – lvl0
talk about School – lvl1
about General stuff – lvl2
about Sex – lvl3
But when maiko first interacts with the character it is based on their mood which could be random for that day or even that interaction. It will be some way to tell like a status symbol over their head or a facial expression. I say status symbol because if the way the art will be.
If their relationship is lvl 3 but their current mood is 1. you can only successfully talk to that character about school stuff. If successful their mood will gradually increase (or decrease) to the max relationship level Maiko has with that character. But if you tried to talk to them about sex, Maiko will lose one or more relationship points with the character.
if their relationship with Maiko is lvl 0 but their mood is lvl3. Maiko can talk to them about sex safely and add a point towards boosting their relationship level. However their mood will decrease to lvl2, then 1, then 0 because Maiko’s relationship with the character is 0. if the relationship was 1, it would not go lover than 1. You essentially lowered their mood but added points towards building relationship.
successfully taking to characters about general or sex (lvl2 and up) will generally boost relationship. And selecting the wrong topic will cause Maiko to lose one or more relationship points. Some characters don’t like talking about sex. Some don’t like talking about school.
relationship and mood determines if a character can join Maiko, if Maiko can join their club and if they will participate in sex activities Maiko can do for the ones they are able to participate in, or even watch. I think if relationship and mood are both above zero they will walk around with Maiko. Doing things can boost or reduce the characters mood. like Pattie likes doing spots stuff, while Jeni likes sex stuff. The mood can be lowered from activities also. Also some character mood is very random like perhaps Jeni. while other characters like Leyah will generally always be in a good mood. Also a characters initial mood can be affected based on the person with you.
Luma will always be in a bad mood if you confront her with Joiry, or Jeni with David. Or most any other girl when kyle is with you lol. Mood can be boosted with you confront Zytra with Leyah thoguh for example.
different items and the location you meet the character in can have a effect on mood also.
I planned to unlock certain sex scenes the mood will need to be lvl 4 to 5 or more. so you need to catch them on a good day and have mood boosting characters with Maiko and items. An example of certain situation will be stuff with teachers and GemCo agents.
That is all I wanted to mention for now I think. For now I am just working on the cafe stuff.

I’m a little confused here. In an earlier post you said that not all the characters would have sex scenes but now you’re saying that depending on their relationship/mood they will do sex activities with Maiko. I was a little bummed by the earlier post so I hope the latter is what will be in the game.
I edited the section of the post a bit to try to clarify. What I mean in the post is that if the character can do sex in that minigame at all, you will need relation level 3/good mood or whatever it will be for them to actually do it. For example the only character available in the cafe for sex scenes are are maiko, leyah, pattie and jeni (and eventually stacy). So any other characters can’t do any sex stuff there and it wouldn’t apply to them.
the pool is also the same way, it will be swimmers. and boxing will be the boxer characters. Music club would be music club characters, etc. need to be relation lvl 3 and/or mood lvl 4+ for certain situation. however it will work.
Also characters I might have been referring to specifically that wouldn’t have any sex scenes at all would have probably been Amber or Riley. But they could have one as long as the context/situation makes sense. It could be in a unwilling situation also, it would be situation and story driven and based on a relationship level. I don’t think they would have anything that could triggered regularly but I haven’t thoguh about it enough to carve that in stone yet. I’m currently thinking if it would happen in the story, it would happen once like the Yui scene. and perhaps can be viewed again from a gallery or something or maybe it got recorded so maybe a Natan video archive.
Thanks for the clarification. I guess the cafe make sense, it’s just an expansion of like when you couldn’t do pleasure work while a guy friend was following you. Also it makes sense that not all girls would be everywhere, Lynn for example wouldn’t need an after school job. As long as there’s some option for each girl, then it’s cool.
It makes me a little sad that some characters won’t be available for random sex, but I guess I understand from a narrative standpoint. One of my favorite things in UMCC was that when my relationship was high enough, I had my pick of who to bring home at the end of the day for some fun. I guess since you mentioned that Amber has no interest in sex that she wouldn’t be up for much anyway, unless Maiko can have an influence on some girls which would make for some fun gameplay. I wouldn’t call it corruption since Maiko isn’t evil, but maybe through a friendship with her, a girl who used to be a prude could come out of her shell. I would be a nice parallel between Maiko and Luma, since you said Luma isn’t really a bitch but is just trying to encourage her fellow students to be more social. Maiko could be doing the same thing, but by encouraging them to explore their sexuality instead of bullying them like Luma. This could kinda be seen with Lynn in UMCC as in the beginning Cain follows her everywhere (even the shower!) but later she is shown sneaking around without him.
That was something I didn’t like about umcc though. Maiko joins a few school clubs then suddenly she can take anyone to go get boned without any resistance or fuss.
Nothing is set in stone yet so we’ll see how it goes.
After playing ARIA and coming back to UMCC I realized that the game doesn’t take place on Earth, or at least not a version of Earth where sex is a big deal. Both hetero and female bisexuality seem to be both commonplace and not a big deal. Ari, who in the ARIA dialogue seems to be a bit repressed, has no problem having sex with Jeo even though she has mixed feelings towards him. Bri has no knowledge of sex whatsoever but will willingly submit to Jeo just to help his “condition.” The girls will even reciprocate after Phia forces herself on them so not even yuri seems to be an issue. Feel free to delete this if it’s a spoiler, but in the browser based RPG alpha you made Ari has sex with the random PC also for very flimsy reasons.
You’ve mentioned repeatedly that all your games take place within the same greater story arc, so I don’t understand why the space and planet-side girls would have different values when it comes to sex. Personal tastes may differ but that should only affect the difficulty in getting the character to perform the act, not whether it should be possible or not.
You mentioned a 4 tier system for both mood and relationship and how one can mitigate the other, but you didn’t mention what would happen if both are maxed at 3. Maybe the more prudish girls won’t agree to anything sexual unless mood/relationship are both at 3, and then they’d be willing to fool around at the sleep over. Maybe they would even go to the pleasure shop/sex club if some other story related criteria is met. Perhaps Amber if the theater club is created and Riley if the student council approves some sensual related activity for extra credit. Savori has obvious reasons for being turned off by sex, but this could be a natural reward for finishing her quest with a good ending. Similarly, Jeni and Zytra could be unlocked by beating them after joining their respective clubs. The rest of the girls I think would just be ok with it whenever.
For the guys, well I’m not sure how any of them could say no to a woman with Maiko’s body. I guess if they’re in a relationship with someone then it might take some convincing, but the only couple I know of are Luma/Joiry and he doesn’t seem like the kinda guy who would care. I guess Jeni/David are kinda a couple but he doesn’t seem like he respects women much so angry sex would always be an option. Tsugo might have feelings for Savori, though it’s never stated to be more than infatuation, so maybe he would only unlock after her quest. Kyle seems into Savori as well, but he’s a perv so maybe he’d unlock after her quest also. I’m not sure about Jinru/Chris/Greel’s motivations so that’s up to you I guess.

You seem to be looking at the overall but not the psychology of these characters in question that exist in that world.
Replace sex with something more extreme like war or slavery and it might make more sense to you. You can grow up in the environment but it is very likely that a number of people feel strongly differently than others who find it normal to the point where they want no part of it. If you give Amber a gun there is no way she would kill anyone unless in a life or death situation at the last minute. Which Maiko does not force on people. You have to remember that Maiko’s focus is to beat Luma. Not get everyone laid. She wouldn’t go out of her way to do this. You can do this in umcc but it is optional player initiated objectives. Everyone will see Maiko the way they played her so you have to look at what was required in umcc to beat the game, and Maiko as she appears in other games to get the canon Maiko.
Also same world but different backgrounds. At Nanako sex is kept hidden. Hidden from some of the space fairing GemCo agents you mentioned. This is seen in the cafe. If you notice Kim and Tony appear at the mall. During that time you can’t do pleasure services in the cafe. It is also hidden from teachers in the school. It is very possible that a person or numer of people will deem something that you hide as something you should not be doing in terms of morality.
Guess you’re right in that beating Luma is Maiko’s only objective and that things that don’t directly influence that goal are not her concern, so my argument of her wanting to help her fellow students is moot. Still, money helps her beat Luma and it’s possible that bringing different girls to the pleasure shop could net players more money. Given the different likes/dislikes people voiced on this site it would make sense that not all customers would prefer the same girl.
Also the sex club helps Maiko raise her stats to beat Luma so maybe bringing different girls could help boost some stats over others. The girls could have some kind of sexperience stat that Maiko could help them with that in turn helps her at the club.
Additionally, if the game continues with the theme of Maiko needing sex to lower stress and progress the game then it would make sense to have as many characters available as possible. Say you have 3 characters that are at relationship 3 but all are in a bad mood, the player wouldn’t be able to advance. You would think that Maiko’s good friend Riley would be willing to help her out with this basic need, or anyone else who becomes a friend due to high relationship/mood. I guess Maiko could use a dildo for a less effective stress relief, but those are pretty expensive if you don’t get one from a random encounter.
I want to stick to a canon Maiko as described in the link below because it seems people have the wrong idea about Maiko because off all the player initiated sex stuff in umcc. mostly all of that is non cannon.

Also the psychology of a character who even as friends, would not be willing to go with Maiko to have sex for money remains valid. Especially not over a beef with Luma. Not everyone thinks the same way. that seems pretty believable to me. Maiko is not in control of their life here like she is in UMCC.
There are several ways to change a characters mood. So I can’t agree with saying the the player would not able to advance in that situation when I mentioned several ways in my post. On top that yes she has a dildo, and a couple of guys like Kyle always down for the cause.
Yes Riley could help Maiko pleasure herself with a dildo or something, but she would not go get dicked down by random men for money.
Also Jeni’s mom does not run her business like that where Maiko or anyone could bring girls in and out like that. Especially for her personal problems. She is very cautious of those GemCo agents. again, Maiko is not in control of how the cafe operates like in UMCC. To me, Maiko being able to do that and bring anyone to get fucked that she wants doesn’t make sense.
sex club raising stats was a feature added into the game much later because people were too lazy to do lvl everything individually. It is way off the rails.

Overall I understand your concern (I hope). I think it will be fine thoguh. You might be thinking this is much worse than I really plan for it to be. when i mention not available for sex I mean because they are either not present, or they are not down with playing in some way with anyone who is not Maiko. assuming high relationship.
Alright I’ll reserve further opinions till I actually see some of the game. Worst case scenario there can be a patreon code to unlock sex options with characters and still preserve canon stuff in the regular game

I like the whole idea of mood changes can affect the dialogue and what interactions to do, it makes the game more interesting i think. Possibly if you can do interactions with teachers or if you can bring certain teacher to a certain area to unlock an event or something i think it would be really cool!

I don’t think you be able to bring teachers to different places. But I will need to think about that a bit more. if so maybe something at night. I forgot to mention schedules. each character shows up in a different places during different times usually.
That would actually work great! Like finding Alma or Mika on the shopping mall or on the path to school making some ‘extra cash’ at night and only unlocking such event either with Maiko on her own or when bringing a certain male student 😛 Maybe Kyle gets into trouble after making photos about them or David having some blackmail fun (like how on UMCC David goes after Maiko and makes her give BJ until she can defeat him or report him, that kind of blackmail…. or deal) xD
I do seriously think it’s a really good idea the whole thing of finding such characters at night during certain times of the day.

The designs are nice. Maiko’s is reminiscent of her original bra and underwear design. Though, I’m not sure how well little plastic straps will do against THOSE puppies. Are all the underwear designs going to match or will there be some people who wear a bra and panty combo that isn’t from a set.
Actually, do any of the girls NOT wear a bra? Some of the girls have small enough breasts that they don’t NEED to wear a bra. It would certainly be more comfortable. But it’s their choice to wear one or not.
I figured these girls were big enough. I don’t think Amber, Joey or Dizzy will need one. Maybe Riley also.
But Riley is supposed to be the proper one, at first… even if she was corrupted by the end of UMCC. Even if she doesn’t really need one, she would wear a bra because it’s proper… most of the time.
Never figured Jeni as the king to have littlebear prints on her panties. I like it.
Wow those are some very good ideas, it sounds more advance than the last game UMCC. The more option the better longer the game will be. You could always put a difficult setting as a options. Casual (Novice), Consensual (Normal) and Hardcore (Hard). That way the harder stuff you’ll do extra more actions. Like having to clean your hair after sex etc. Casual the usual stuff that UMCC have.
Only problem the code will be writing more. It’s up to you, just throwing a idea for you of a Difficult Setting. I know the last flash you had auto setting to wash up and put school uniform on. If anything this idea might be something to try out on Unity3D having a difficult setting.
It’s a good idea the difficulty change, it would make the whole goal a bit more tricky to get 😛 But I suppose like you said, the coding will be more to write of, but still a good idea 🙂
The body wash in UMCC let you do like twice the activities before needing a shower, and with the auto shower option in the morning it really wasn’t that awful. I’m sure the shampoo Vortex mentioned will work the same way. Also anytime you could get dirty there was a conveniently placed shower (pleasure shop, locker room, home) nearby so you didn’t even have to go far for something that didn’t even take up a time slot.
If there were a difficulty thing and it only applied to hygiene, it actually would be pretty easy to code. Lets say that on hard you could do 1 thing before needing a shower, 2 for normal and 3 for casual. All you would need is a variable that increments itself and 3 nested if statements that display Maiko dirty if she meets the criteria. If that went over your head, it’s like 12 lines of code and would take like maybe 10mins.
Yeah it’s something to consider. One of my main issues that I learned from ARIA is that several people will ask me what the harder setting will unlock…which creates extra expected work on top of the probably already being different online and offline versions.

Glad to see the pictures are being expanded. I liked the idea of Maiko using her cavalier attitude towards sex to make money off herself and her classmates. I didn’t really get the idea of the park pictures since near as I could tell completing a set didn’t give any benefit and it reset every day. Also pretty cool that Maiko will have a front facing camera, does this mean that she will be an option for the possible sex pics as well?
Will there be a reason to keep taking the pictures after you potentially lose your only customer? I never liked that in UMCC since opting to keep your customer resulted in some very bad things. Maybe Chris could help Maiko and Kyle set up a website to show off the girls and you get money at the end of the day based on the number of pics you set up. Heck you could even call the site spiralvortexplay.com, a little self promotion never hurts since your games are usually hosted elsewhere.
yeah whole camera story thing will be different here, nature pics will still be there thoguh as the non sex option. Also Joey likes nature pics, she is actually part of kyles photography club but hardly every there because of the way Kyle is. She takes pics for the school paper and stuff and nature pics.
I’m not sure of the details about how photos will work exactly. but the website sounds like good idea to me.

The art is freshening and nicely done, but does it mean you can’t animate the characters ? Will you still use MMD models for the animations or there will be entirely drawn animations ? This is hard and long work

The characters won’t be animated. I plan to do the the basic dialogue like in ARIA. other stuff will have unique character art made for the situation.
